An Insight Into The Hot Air Balloon Rides Colorado

By Jeffrey Watson

Peace, beauty, inspiration. These are just but a few words that can be used to describe that view. I am talking about the view of the magnificent view one gets while on a balloon rides Colorado. The view of the entire Douglas country can also have enjoyed while traversing across the world in these heights. The experience one gets from the cruise is unforgettable. It has become a common occurrence in the recent times for one to celebrate a birthday party or an anniversary in the sky. Such a delight.

The origin of modern airships we see can be traced back to the 17th century. Thanks to one man De Rozier for his great job. The scientist's prototype was on air for fifteen minutes before it crashed. It was reported that none of these passengers came out with severe damages, although given a chance you cannot have the slightest idea who they were. There was a sheep, a cock and a bat. Such a brilliant man indeed. This was recorded as the first form of technology which could take humans on air.

The unusual combination of nature and some basic scientific principles enable the air bag to remain afloat in the air while on-board. It is made up of three essential parts that once their role is well understood the concepts become very apparent. These are the burner, the basket, and the envelope.

The basket is where all the passengers and the pilot stand. The gas or the fuel tank is usually in this compartment. Usually, propane is the preferred fuel. The size of the basket depends mainly on the function of the airship. Smaller ones are used in the construction of little engagement ships, whereas the large ones are used for the commercial air bags. That is usually split into compartments for convenience.

The top of the basket has the burner attached to it. It is used for the combustion of fuel which in this case is the propane. The burner has various valves and regulators which the pilot alone is allowed to adjust, to control its motion. The commercial air bags are usually fitted with multiple burners to enable it to have a faster response to heat.

The envelope is made of nylon panels or the gores. It is the actual balloon. It expands towards the top and tapers towards the bottom. The top has silicone coating to protect against excess heat and the possible fungi or mould growth. The skirt is made of a fire resistant material, often Nomex. Various cords, rope or cables enable the pilot to control it.

An important thing that people are curious to establish is how long it takes to land. That depends on various factors such as the speed of the wind. If the wind speed is moderately high, more distance will be travelled, and the experience will be more exciting. However, if the wind speed is high, due to safety concerns, the pilot is not allowed to fly. In addition to that, small sized are more responsive than the larger ones therefore much easier to control, land and take off.

The next booking you do ensure you have your sunglasses, a good camera, a thrill-spirit and an empty bladder. Lets have some fun.
